Over a hundred delegates from the SCOBA federation stepped away from their daily work at their respective banks last Friday, September 20th 2013, to take part in a exciting event at Dona Sylvia Beach Resort at Goa.The “6th SCOBA Pride Awards” became a reality as delegates poured in from various parts of South Gujarat on 19th September 2013.The preliminary introductions and felicitations of guests and sponsors were followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Awards distribution ceremony was kicked off with a speech by ShriMukesh N Gajjar, President of SCOBA. The various banks present received awards for various categories. The Surat Peoples Coop Bank received the Champions award.Sh.Ghanshyam H Amin, President Co-op. Bank of India, New Delhi and Sh. Ramakant D Khalap, Former Dy. Chief Minister of Goa were the featured speakers.ShriBhikhabhai Z Patel, President, Surat District Co-operative Union introduced the gathering to the assembled dignitaries and ShriJagdish S Mehta, President, NAFCUB, New Delhi presented the welcome speech.This was followed by aCorporate Profile presentation of C-Edge Technologies Ltd., Mumbai. The Management Dashboard was then presented to ShriMukesh N Gajjar,Chairman of Surat Peoples Coop bank in the form of Samsung Tab-3 with the Dashboard running live.The “Internet Banking website of Surat Peoples Coop Bank” was then inaugurated by the Chairman,ShriMukesh N Gajjar. This major accomplishment was applauded by all present.Shri Ghanshyam spoke about the “97th Amendment of Constitution and its Impact on Co-operative Banking Sector ”.ShriRamakant D Khalap gave an inspiring talk about the “Challenges and Opportunities for Co-operative Banking Sector” and induced the audience to find a campaign they were passionate about and make their chosen careers more than just a job.The vote of thanks was given by Shri Gautam U Vyas Vice President,SCOBA.The night ended notably amidst lashing rains at the poolside “Seagull” Restaurant.
