C-Edge adds the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Limited to its list of clients

We are glad to inform that C-Edge Technologies has added the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Limited to its list of esteemed clients. The bank was established in 1971, with the formation of Meghalaya State after bifurcation of the erstwhile Assam State. Since then the Bank has developed and expanded its activities/operations and has grown in manifolds. MCAB commenced Banking operations with just two branches – one at Shillong and the other at Tura. Today, the Bank has a wide network of 49 branches, spread throughout the State providing effective banking products and other related services to the general public.

C-Edge successfully aids MGB to go live with UPI

C-Edge adds another feather in its cap as it has successfully aided MGB to go live with UPI. With the implementation of UPI, MGB becomes the first RRB in India to go live with UPI.  C-Edge server has the capacity of more than 2 lakhs daily transactions. UPI implementation will help MGB to power multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application, merging several banking features, seamless fund routing & merchant payments under one roof. Those using the service of MGB will now be able to enjoy facilities such as immediate money transfer through mobile device - 24x7x365, single mobile application for accessing different bank accounts, bill sharing with friends and many more other features.

NABARD’s DCCBs and SCBs Now Under CBS…3,253 and still counting!

C-Edge adds another feather in its cap as it successfully rolled out 3,253 branches of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) across the country. A significant amount of these totaling 2,894 branches were added in the current year alone. States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were covered. The managed services comprised of turnkey networking solution and services to connect various District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and State Apex banks in the country. The branches were integrated onto a central Core Banking Solution. Approximately 96banks went through a major transformation of the current information technologies and a significant reengineering of the bank’s business processes. The CBS project grew under the NABARD patronage. The most difficult challenge during the transition was “the management of change”. However, these difficulties were proficiently handled by NABARD with a vision to become a special purpose vehicle to make best use of CBS technologies by DCCBs and SCBs which has far reaching effects on banking activities done in rural areas.

These initiatives resulted with all DCCBs and SCBs using services like RTGS and SMS alerts which were not accessible to them earlier. DCCBs and SCBs have developed a strong association with TCS/C-Edge under the able guidance of NABARD as they both share a similar vision of financial inclusion and rural development. The commendable feat was accomplished due to the relentless efforts of the Operations team from TCS/C-Edge, bank management, bank staff, bank’s core team members and NABARD officials.

About NABARD:NABARD is set up as an Apex Development Bank with a mandate for facilitating credit flow for promotion and development of agriculture, small-scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts, and other rural crafts. Meghalaya Rural Bank – 11 Branches go Online Simultaneously on Same Day

The Meghalaya Rural Bank created history in the banking sphere in the state of Meghalaya as Hon. Chief Minister Dr MukulSangma, inaugurated 11 new branches online, simultaneously on the same day and at the same time. C-Edge received invaluable appreciation from the Hon. Chief Minister for their technology support which has enabled MRB to serve the remote areas of the State andfulfil its policy of financial inclusion.

Mr.MukulJeishi, Chairman of MRB also thanked Mr. K Krishna Kumar, CEO - C-Edge Technologies, Mr. Sunil Pillai , Head of Account Management and Operations andMr. Jay Shah , Project Managerfor the untiring efforts extended by entire team in changing the landscape of banking industry in Meghalaya.

On 20th December, 2013, Meghalaya Rural Bank (MRB) launched 11 new branches at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. Ranked as one of the best rural banks in the country, all their 11 branches were opened on Real Time basis with both, Connectivity i.e. Primary (VSAT) and Secondary ( by VPN- Dongle) and also delivered the VSAT to all the site. Out of 11 Branches, 3 Branches belonged to Chief Minister’s area. The Chief Minister appreciated the technology support by C-Edge especially since Meghalaya is ridden with inclement weather which normally gives rise to connectivity issues. Cheerapunji which receives the highest rainfall in India falls in this region. “Yet, with the help of C-Edge as ourtechnology partner we crossed this hurdle very smoothly,” said Mr.MukulJeishi, Chairman of MRB .

C-Edge has enabled MRB to become fully CBS-compliant, and offer ATM, RTGS and NEFT facilities to its valued customers.On this momentous occasion, the august assembly of dignitaries included - Chief General Manager, RBI, Shillong, Chief General Manager, SBI, LHO, Guwahati , General Manager (NW-I), SBI, LHO, and Guwahati General Manager (NW-II), SBI, LHO, Guwahati amongst other luminaries.The eleven branches opened included 3 in East Khasi Hills District, 3 in West Garo Hills, 2 in RiBhoi, 2 in Jaintia Hills and 1 in West Khasi Hills District. With this, the MRB has in total 87 branches operating in the state.

About MRB:MRB is the second largest banking network in the State and has three branches at Garo Hills and East Khasi Hills districts, two each at Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi districts and one at West Khasi Hills district. The Bank is headquartered in Shillong and has 87 branches in total. The volume of business handled by the Bank is in the vicinity of Rs 1,500 crore and the number of accounts serviced around four lakh. The Bank serves more than 600 villages and small towns of the State and its credit-deposit ratio stands as 44 per cent.

Over 10000+ branches…C-Edge Achieves a Significant Milestone

As the year 2013 draws to a close, C-Edge has crossed a significant milestone in the history of banking sector in India. C-Edge now provides core banking and allied services to more than 10,000 branches, leaving their footprints in most of the Tier I, II and III cities as well as small towns in rural India. In a short span of 6 years, C-Edge has turned out to be the largest ASP provider of CBS to small and medium sized banks in India all the way from Jammu and Kashmir in Northern India to Kerala in South India and Rajasthan in the Western region to Meghalaya in the Eastern region.

C-Edge Implements Next Generation RTGS in Syndicate Bank RRBs

C-Edge implements Next Generation RTGS in Syndicate Bank RRBs thus enabling the rural banks to be complaint as per RBI guidelines. Recently RBI has decided to move from the existing text Based messaging to the ISO 20022 compliant XML based messaging for RTGS. The RBI has termed this as Next Generation RTGS and all 5 Syndicate Banks RRBs were required to adhere to these guidelines. C-Edge team enabled a smooth transition within a time span of one month.

SCOBA 6th Pride Awards Event Report

Over a hundred delegates from the SCOBA federation stepped away from their daily work at their respective banks last Friday, September 20th 2013, to take part in a exciting event at Dona Sylvia Beach Resort at Goa.The “6th SCOBA Pride Awards” became a reality as delegates poured in from various parts of South Gujarat on 19th September 2013.

The preliminary introductions and felicitations of guests and sponsors were followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The Awards distribution ceremony was kicked off with a speech by ShriMukesh N Gajjar, President of SCOBA. The various banks present received awards for various categories. The Surat Peoples Coop Bank received the Champions award.

Sh.Ghanshyam H Amin, President Co-op. Bank of India, New Delhi and Sh. Ramakant D Khalap, Former Dy. Chief Minister of Goa were the featured speakers.

ShriBhikhabhai Z Patel, President, Surat District Co-operative Union introduced the gathering to the assembled dignitaries and ShriJagdish S Mehta, President, NAFCUB, New Delhi presented the welcome speech.

This was followed by aCorporate Profile presentation of C-Edge Technologies Ltd., Mumbai. The Management Dashboard was then presented to ShriMukesh N Gajjar,Chairman of Surat Peoples Coop bank in the form of Samsung Tab-3 with the Dashboard running live.

The "Internet Banking website of Surat Peoples Coop Bank" was then inaugurated by the Chairman,ShriMukesh N Gajjar. This major accomplishment was applauded by all present.

Shri Ghanshyam spoke about the “97th Amendment of Constitution and its Impact on Co-operative Banking Sector ”.ShriRamakant D Khalap gave an inspiring talk about the “Challenges and Opportunities for Co-operative Banking Sector” and induced the audience to find a campaign they were passionate about and make their chosen careers more than just a job.

The vote of thanks was given by Shri Gautam U Vyas Vice President,SCOBA.The night ended notably amidst lashing rains at the poolside “Seagull” Restaurant.

Asian Banker Award to C-Edge & MGB
